Originally from Streamwood, Illinois, Dalton played 3 sports at local Streamwood High School during his time there. After graduating in 2012, he went on to play baseball at Valparaiso University in Indiana for 4 years. In his time at Valpo, he became the all-time innings leader in addition to winning the ‘Pitcher of the Year’ award in the conference in 2014. Along with teammate and current Phenom coach Spencer Mahoney, he helped lead Valpo to both a Horizon League Conference Title and a win in the 2013 NCAA tournament. After graduating with a Marketing & Business Administration degree in 2016, Dalton was selected in the 30th round of the 2016 MLB draft by the Detroit Tigers organization. He competed across several levels until he returned in late 2017 to pursue a full-time career and be a part of the Phenom Organization. He has spent time learning & training at Driveline Baseball Facility in Seattle & continues to try to learn something new about the game of baseball every day.
