Phenom Illinois is excited to announce their alignment with the Crystal Lake Bulldogs Organization! Please see the press release below:

Crystal Lake Baseball Families,

On behalf of the Board, I am excited to announce our alignment with Phenom Illinois! Currently, Phenom Illinois provides a travel baseball experience for players aged 13 through college. With this new partnership, we will be able to expand to ages 9-12 with multiple teams at all age levels. Plus, it gives our CLB players a place to play local or regional travel baseball all the way through college!

With this alignment, we will be retiring our Bulldogs and Stars programs at the end of this shortened 2020 season. Beginning in 2021, the Bulldogs will be known as Phenom Blue, and the Stars will be known as Phenom Red. The Phenom Blue teams will travel to and compete in tournaments regionally – the Phenom Red teams will play in local tournaments (without the need for overnight travel). Both teams at all age levels will continue to train in the off-season at the Trinity Athletics Center, and they will play home games at Canterbury Yards. Our Crystal Lake Baseball Executive Board will remain in place, and we will operate the Phenom Illinois youth program with the support of the Phenom Illinois President, Armie Bombino.

Phenom Illinois, just like Crystal Lake Baseball, is a volunteer, non-for-profit organization. It is committed to the development of baseball and life skills through training and competition. The Phenom Illinois vision is to help develop high school varsity athletes and advance them to college or other future endeavors. You can find more information about the organization at https://phenomillinois.com/.

We will offer tryouts for spots on these teams later in the summer. Right now, we are targeting the end of July or beginning of August for tryouts. Please keep your eyes open for exact dates/times which will be announced via email, our website, and our social media channels.

We look forward to beginning this journey, and we are confident that this partnership will provide a well-rounded experience that helps prepare our players for baseball and life.

Best,

Jason Eggert
Crystal Lake Baseball, President
